Co-Founder
Robyn Thomas is an experienced leader of social and political change movements, most recently serving 16 years at the helm of the Giffords Law Center. During the time she led the organization, Robyn was instrumental in helping ensure passage of almost 500 gun laws at the state level and more than two dozen federal laws and executive actions. Robyn co-authored and advocated for Proposition 63 with Governor Gavin Newsom, spearheaded the creation of the Firearms Accountability Counsel Taskforce, launched Giffords Law Center’s Community Violence Initiative (CVI), and recently ran a two year comprehensive IDEA (Inclusion Diversity Equity Antiracism) process at Giffords.
Robyn has broad experience with the media and has written for publications ranging from the New York Times and Newsweek to Oprah Magazine, and has regularly appeared on television as a leading authority on America’s gun laws on 60 Minutes, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and many more. She has been quoted widely in print media across the world, and was featured in Katie Couric’s documentary Under the Gun. She has also testified before the US Senate and Congress, as well as state legislatures across the country.
Prior to her work at Giffords Law Center, Robyn served as the executive director of Tikkun, advocating for policy solutions to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Before entering the nonprofit space, Robyn practiced law at Lord Bissell & Brook and Milberg Weiss Bershad & Shulman in New York as a plaintiffs class action litigator and was a Public Defender in Miami-Dade County before that. She is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Miami School of Law.

Anne Kiehl Friedman is a communications professional. She graduated from Stanford University with honors and began work as a speechwriter/ghostwriter for prominent names in politics and Hollywood. From there, she started Bold Ink, a strategic communications consultancy for non-profits.
Anne is a passionate advocate for holistic well-being and spiritual growth. She obtained her MBA from ESADE University in Spain, and was ordained as an Interfaith Minister and Reverend after attending seminary at the Berkeley Chaplaincy Institute.
Her commitment to fostering understanding and empathy shines through in her work, making her a trusted voice in the academic and public spheres. Higher Love: A Psychedelic Travel Memoir of Heartbreak and Healing is her first book.
